P1 D- Market Position

The Walt Disney Company is clearly known for having a successful market position, mainly due to the main films which have recently been produced; 'Ant Man', and 'Inside Out'. These films grossed out at $176-$352 million, as presented from Disney's official statistics, as of September 2015. Such figures did not stand out for Disney as they have, in the past, always had similar success with the marketing of their previous releases. For instance, 'Frozen', which was released in 2013, became their highest grossing film ever produced, selling an outstanding 3 million copies within the first year of its release.
The Walt Disney Company holds 6 theme parks set out in various countries/ locations, such as France, America and Hong Kong. As of 2014, the parks each hold approximately 134 million guests, meaning that these parks are the most popular, as opposed to those not under Disney's ownership. With reference to Disney's employees, these parks are Disney's largest segment for employment; holding up to 180,000 members of staff as of 2015.
